Corporate Responsibility
"Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept whereby organizations consider the interests of society by taking responsibility for the impact of their activities on customers, employees, shareholders, communities and the environment in all aspects of their operations. This obligation is seen to extend beyond the statutory obligation to comply with legislation and sees organizations voluntarily taking further steps to improve the quality of life for employees and their families as well as for the local community and society at large." In the spirit of that mission, BatDesign is committed to:
- Being Carbon Nuetral: BatDesign uses resources only when necessary; we are 95% paperless. The small amount of printing that comes out of our business is done on post-consumer recycled paper. At the end of each year we completely offset our carbon footprint via donations to The CarbonFund. We were the first carbon free web hosting and development firm in the UK.
- Supporting the Local Economy: BatDesign has a corporate policy of purchasing from Welsh businesses when possible. If we must go outside of the Welsh business sector, we first look to the UK and then internationaly.
- Supporting the Voluntary Sector: BatDesign is honored to work with the voluntary sector through our non-profit foundation 'SectorSpace.org'. More than 25% of our resources and 40% of our profits are allocated to provide free websites, hosting and consultancy to small voluntary organizations.
